FAQ
There are a lot of aspects to screen printing and placing orders. To make it (hopefully) easy, here’s a rundown of common questions one might have.
Do you have screen fees?
No screen fees. Ever.
Is there an order minimum?
Nope, no minimums. But anything under 12 pieces is going to be rather pricey.
How much is my order going to cost?
Answering this requires a lot of variables; how many pieces are you looking for? How many print locations? How many colors? The best way for me to answer this question is to request a quote.
Wait a minute, you just said ‘me’ in the previous answer. Why did you just say ‘me?’
Well, truth of the matter is Shirts and Destroy Print Shop is just one person. Head over to the About page if you’re curious in my full story (told in just a few paragraphs).
What’s your turnaround time?
I aim to keep a 10 business day turnaround time (from client approval). However, since the shop is truly one person, there might be some exceptions where it takes a little longer. I’ll let you know that when we send you a quote and/or you place an order, though. I’ll be upfront from the get-go.
I need an order in less than two weeks, can you do that?
As long as I can make it work within the schedule, sure thing. However, rush charges will apply.
How many colors can you print?
I have a 6-color press, so 6 colors.
Can you ship my order?
Absolutely. Shipping rates are charged to the customer and I typically ship with UPS. If you prefer a different parcel carrier, just let me know when you place the order and I’ll accommodate as best as we can.
I don’t exactly know what I want, can you still help me?
Of course, I can. Let’s talk it through. Call or email me: 920.479.1009 or john@sadprintshop.com
I have a design already. Can you print it?
In short, yes, but it depends on a few things. If you have print-ready, vector-based artwork, that makes things pretty darn easy for me to print your design. If you don’t have print-ready, vector-based artwork, not all hope is lost. Chances are I still can, I just might need to rework the design to make it printable. Send over whatever you have, I’ll take a look, and let you know where things stand.
I don’t have a design already. Can you help?
Heck yeah, I can. I’ll work with you to come up with a design that suits your needs and wants. Design services are billed at $30/hour.
What happens once I place an order?
Once the order is placed, I’ll send you a digital proof of your order. This will be a representation of the final product within two business days. You check it over, make sure everything looks good, and once you approve it, I go to print. It’s from this approval stage that the turnaround time is ten business days. Once your order is completed, you’ll receive an invoice and I’ll let you know your order is ready to party.
Can you print on anything?
I can print on a lot of wearables, but wouldn’t go as far to say anything. Cotton and polyester are great for screen printing. It’s not always the case with other materials. And even with cotton and polyester, the garment itself dictates what can and cannot be done. Is there a zipper? A pocket? Weird stitching? All of this and more play a factor into what is and is not possible.
Is there anything you won’t print?
Aside from the physical limitations that come with specific garments/materials, I won’t print anything I deem as hateful. I’m not going to entertain or enable hate, so don’t even try. I reserve the right to refuse to print anything I choose not to.
I haven’t read any Stephen King books but I want to. Where should I start?
It all depends on what you want to read. Are you looking for horror, non-horror, thriller, or nonfiction? Do you want a novel, a novella, or a short story collection? Do you want a standalone story or one that’s part of a bigger overarching story? You know what, this is too big of a question for here. Best thing would be to stop into the shop so we can talk about this in person.
Any tips on how to improve the burritos I make at home?
If you’re not grilling your burritos, you’re doing it all wrong. Once you have that burrito wrapped up nice and tight, warm a skillet (or frying pan) over low-to-medium heat, and “grill” both sides until they get nice and golden brown.
What are some of your favorite episodes of The X-Files?
In no particular order: Paper Hearts, Home, Bad Blood, Pusher, Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man, The Post-Modern Prometheus, Dreamland (parts 1 and 2), Jose Chung’s From Outer Space, X-Cops… the list goes on. I don’t think Monday gets the love it deserves, as well. Beyond The Sea is so great and Brad Dourif’s performance is haunting and incredible. There are a lot of good episodes, let’s just agree on that.
What’s not just the greatest teen comedy of the ‘90s, but also of all time?
Can’t Hardly Wait, duh. Why is this even a question?
Have you seen the ska meme about mozzarella sticks?
Yes, too many damn times.
